We have a vacancy for a part or full time Trainee Laboratory Assistant in our busy Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory.

After training is completed, the position will eventually involve working in all areas of the laboratory including:

• media preparation
  
• tissue replating
• culture initiation
  
• seed sowing
  
• culture assessment
• record keeping
  
• liason with clients.
  

No qualifications or previous work experience is required however a love of plants in general and Orchids, Carnivorous Plants and Bromeliads in particular is desirable to work in this specialised field of horticulture. This position is also suitable for those returning to work.

The position is initially casual during the 3 months probation period and thereafter on a permanent basis.
